Michael Fassbender, 2 Nisan 1977 tarihinde Heidelberg, Batı Almanya'da dünyaya gelmiştir. İrlandalı bir anne ve Alman bir babanın oğlu olan Fassbender, iki yaşındayken ailesiyle birlikte Killarney, İrlanda'ya taşındı ve çocukluğunu burada geçirdi.
