Esther "Essie" Davis, 19 Ocak 1970 tarihinde Hobart, Tasmanya, Avustralya'da dünyaya gelmiştir. Sanatçı bir babanın kızı olarak dünyaya gelen Davis, genç yaşta sanatla iç içe büyüdü.
